Background of CMD
The Collateral Management Department is responsible for exposure monitoring of complex client trading strategies of multiple businesses at Morgan Stanley, including Prime Brokerage, Private Wealth Management and OTC Equity and Fixed Income Derivatives.

There is currently a position available for an individual, within the OTC collateral team. The successful candidate will be working in a dynamic and challenging environment, covering day-to-day collateral management and controls supervision.

Primary Responsibilities
The individual will be working within a growing cross location team, currently 36, responsible for margining Institutional and Hedge Fund clients under the provisions of ISDA Credit Support documentation. A core focus of management is ensuring that analysts and managers alike are collateral experts capable of engaging with business stakeholders on all aspects of the collateral function at their level. This is reflected in the scope of functions and responsibilities as well as the skill sets required.

Ensuring controls on collateral management process are monitored and exceptions resolved in a timely manner.
Managing client relationships on a day-to-day basis providing service to hedge funds and financial institutions.
Liaising with risk partners and financing desk on high value/high risk collateral moves.
Reviewing weekly metrics packs and ensuring appropriate risk management
Maintaining, developing, and improving current processes and procedures

The successful candidate will be required to gain an understanding of the broader responsibilities of collateral management. This is not exhaustive tasks and responsibilities, changes are frequent in order to maintain our high level of service and changing regulatory environment.

We expect that likely candidates may have developed the necessary competencies in a similar role over a 5-7 year period.

Able to identify and support the resolution of ambiguous problems through initiative and tenacity
Able to support, and initiate where possible, RTB and CTB projects.
