Our Housing Association client in the S London area are looking for a Repairs Supervisor / Manager to work on an interim basis. This is expected to last at least 6 months and will likely be extended after that.


To ensure that residents receive a high quality, responsive, surveying service with surveyors providing project management to ensure that repairs identified are completed to the satisfaction of residents.

To provide professional surveying support and advice to the staff within the Building Maintenance and Environment Division

To manage the repairs & surveying function to ensure an effective and value for money repairs and maintenance function which conforms to existing and emerging best practice.

Key areas of control

* Day to day repairs
* Pre-Termination Inspections of voids
* Scheduling of void works (major and minor)
* Mutual Exchange Inspections
* Quality Control - post inspection of responsive and void works
* HHSRS Surveys
* Stock Condition Validation Surveys
* Complaints
* Manage fire risk assessments
* Working closely with other agencies including local authorities
* Work in partnership with neighbourhood services & development departments with regards to snagging, joint visits and complaints
* Minor disabled adaptation works
* Monitoring and post inspecting work on various work for project surveyors
o Kitchen and bathroom refurbishments
o Door and window replacements
o External painting contracts

To undertake options appraisals to ensure best value for money, and ensure that specifications of work meet relevant and appropriate standards of professional practice, and meet the relevant Statutory requirements including satisfactory compliance with Statutory obligations, the Health and Safety Hazard Rating System and the relevant housing standards.

To lead on responsive major works and complex repairs to ensure the optimum scheme of work which achieves effective performance, best value, and customer satisfaction.

To ensure that appropriate levels of post inspection take place to ensure effective contract compliance and quality assurance, together with high levels of customer satisfaction, and avoiding the occurrence of follow on repairs.

For this role you will need:

Experience working in a Surveyor capacity (maintenance, reactive repairs etc.)
Experience working in a team leader or team manager capacity
HNC Building qualification minimum, no RICS required
