Our client has a unique part to play in giving people their lives back following disruption from unexpected property damage.

Please do not be put off by the title, this is an interesting and varied role, as a key member of a Flood and Fire, Restorations firm - working alongside high end insurance companies - this may not be the type of role you have previously considered, but if you value customer service, have a flair for relationship building, empathy and enjoy variety - then please read on!

Your role is a Leading Technician responsible for responding to and effectively managing fire and commercial loss projects; you will be required to provide an effective response to support customers with positive actions following unexpected property damage.
You will need to be able to manage customer needs whilst ensuring a cost effective service. You will be able to survey and manage the incident from start to finish as well managing a range of people; team members, contractors, as well as our client's expectations.

We provide this service 24/7, mainly, but not exclusively, across the South of England. There is a requirement to be willing to work away from home for prolonged periods away from home including some weekends, and to be an "On-call' Rota, which is recompensed.

You will be provided with full training and be expected to develop your skills through supported experience. Previous experience would be an advantage but not a necessity and the right attitude is the key attribute required.

Principal Duties and responsibilities:

• To be able to undertake detailed site surveys to accurately assess the work required to prevent secondary damage and to restore the affected property to pre incident condition, or in preparation for work by building tradespersons.
• To be able to deal with both Fire and Flood (water damage) incidents.
• To manage a team of trained restoration technicians and assistants to carry out restoration work
• To be able to liaise with contractors, customers and clients.
• To be able to manage contractors and team members.
• To lead teams by example
• To be able to undertake a wide variety of damage restoration work to, usually, return the property to a condition where it can be re-occupied
• Work on content items both on site and in plant
• To be responsive and be able to work flexibly both in location and in time.
• Be able to gain the respect of our customers while working in their homes or business

General Administration Responsibilities
To undertake other duties not specifically stated above, which from time to time are necessary for the effective performance of the company without altering the nature or level of responsibility involved.

• Ability to problem solve and deal with quickly changing circumstances yet ensure all the details are dealt with efficiently, with a positive "can-do" attitude.
• Ability to manage teams and/or contractors and maintain good business relationships with work referrers.
• Ability to undertake accurate Fire and Flood site surveys.
• Ability to develop own performance to contribute to continual improvement in the quality and efficiency of our service to customers.
• Ability to manage customer and client needs and deliver excellent customer service.
• You must hold a full UK driving licence or equivalent
• Willingness to be on the "On-Call" Rota and possibly be able to stay away overnight.
• Ability to follow standard procedures to ensure proper administration of projects.
• Be a self starter and able to work independently.
• Able to demonstrate a commitment to training and development within the job role and undertake any training events/courses that may be arranged.
• Ability to use IT and smart phones and appropriate software packages.

Desirable requirements
• Have experience of being a BDMA Senior Technician
• Be a member of the BDMA
• Have a good working knowledge of building structures.

GBP12 per hour plus GBP1.50 per hour London Weighting
