Our client a specialist manufacturing company requires an experienced Plastic Injection Moulding Process Technician / Setter to join their busy mould shop. Working in a modern facility working with full automated moulding machines.

Reporting To: Production Manager

Job Purpose:

To support the company in the smooth running of the department in achieving monthly targets, with a focus on quality, departmental performance and process efficiency and machine utilization.

To carry out tool sets, change overs, colour changes and tool processing. This includes any other reasonable tasks issued by management.

Qualifications & experience:

• Thorough knowledge of plastic processing , optimisation and machinery
• Knowledge of manufacturing services ( chillers, compressors & vacuum systems )
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word
• Comprehensive understanding of automation - 3/6Axis robots
• Knowledge of quality standards and procedures
• 5S , BRC and ISO
• Key eye to detail with lean manufacturing knowledge

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that all mould/colour changes are carried out in a timely, safe, structured manner.
• Ensuring that all machines, moulds and ancillaries are in good working order and that all tools and equipment are available for mould changes.
• Meeting any trouble-shooting requirements that may arise during shift.
• Carrying out any product sampling or tool trials as requested.
• Generating/Maintaining setting sheets for all jobs.
• Ensuring quality products running on machines at all times.
• Setting an example to, and guiding other moulding staff in attendance, timekeeping, breaks and general behaviour.
• Raising maintenance and tool room requests providing detailed information.
• Contributing to the team effort and supporting other members of the department where appropriate.
• Setting and maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the department and ensuring that all safety procedures in place are adhered to.
• Undertaking any training that may be required to aid personal and production improvement.
• Suggesting and implementing any changes that lead to increased efficiency.
• Operation and control of site robots and automation equipment.
• Covering the role of Mould Shop Supervisor in his absence.

Hours of Work:

Rotating day shift / night shift - standard 48hour week

Week 1 - Monday to Thursday (days) 07:00am to 19:00 - 48 hours Week 2 - Tuesday to Friday (days) 07:00am to 19:00 - 48 hours

Week 3 - Monday to Thursday (nights) 19:00 to 07:00am - 48 hours Week 4 - Tuesday to Friday (nights) 19:00 to 07:00am - 48 hours
