The Management Accounting team form part of the UK Finance Shared Service function. The MA team is responsible for delivering the month end, management reporting and revenue recognition of contracts in SAP throughout the month. The role includes the following activities.

Key tasks & responsibilities:
• Overseeing all management accounting and internal reporting across GfK in the UK.
• Running the SAP month end processes and project maintenance throughout the month
• Support business partnering team on analysis and information.
• Preparation and distribution of monthly reporting to key business stakeholders
• Developing and managing the MA team to provide timely and accurate reports

Experience, skills and competencies required:
• Oversee and assist with production of monthly management accounts
• Monthly ledger closing in SAP and ensuring integrity of all reporting financial information
• Preparation of reports for month end results analysis
• Complete monthly submission of results to Group company
• Improve performance analysis of key performance measures
• Creation of results analysis for inclusion in internal reporting packs
• Active involvement in development of future reporting requirements
• Continuously review and identity potential improvements to the UK reporting process
• Participation in both internal and external audits
• Reconciliation of required Balance Sheet accounts
• Management and development of all staff in the management accounting team.
• Supporting business partners on all internal reporting
• Work alongside head of department to identify process improvements and synergies to processes.
• Ad hoc reporting
Technical skills required:
• Knowledge in management accounting and reporting
• High level of excel competency
• Background in project revenue recognition
• Strong analytical and presentation skills
• Strong Microsoft Skills - MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• SAP experience essential and BI beneficial
• Accuracy & strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to interact internally across a variety of functions
• Proactive in seeking out and achieving financial performance.
• Able to work on own initiative and proactive/self-starter
