Office Manager, Heathrow Animal Reception Centre

Salary: £30,530 - £34,880 inclusive of Basic Salary and Outer London Weighting (salary dependent on experience/performance)

An opportunity has arisen for a full-time person to join the team at the City of London Corporation's Animal Reception Centre as Office Manager (permanent contract, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week).

Based at Heathrow airport, the Animal Reception Centre (ARC) is unique and provides an unequalled service to the airlines. The main remit of the ARC is to enforce UK and EU legislation with regards to animal health and welfare. The ARC also provides care and accommodation to the huge variety and quantity of animals that pass through Heathrow airport each year.

The role of the Office Manager is to coordinate the administrative team and run an effective reception. Knowledge of relevant financial and procurement procedures, ability to handle internal and external communications, excellent commercial and private customer service skills and an awareness of cargo and airport logistics are required. This role includes line management responsibility and applicants are required to be able to demonstrate relevant capability in this area. Good IT skills and strong communication skills are essential. 

Heathrow Animal Reception Centre is an extremely busy environment and this role requires a person who has the skills to meet the challenge of providing a first rate service for pet owners, airlines, agents and government agencies, alongside HARCs statutory function to enforce animal health and welfare legislation.
