Computer Futures are looking for an experienced DevOps Platform Engineer to join a leading Ecommerce business in London. A business, which has grown 40% year-on-year for the last 4 years and will continue to grow at a rapid rate. Based within the Platform Engineering Team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end health of company systems, as well as 24/7 services. Being a global business, teams work in unison. Balancing local priorities and workload with a goal of standardising technology and methodology globally. Your DevOps Platform Team will play a critical role in the delivery of enterprise products and services, providing these to a large and growing global customer base. You will be an important part of the Global Platform Engineering Team. You will have direct communication lines to Solution Architects and Software Engineers, operating in an agile environment to drive availability, performance and security. Being a leading member of the Global Platform Engineering Team you are also expected to work closely with the rest of the team globally, ensuring systems are implemented and run in a standardised manner wherever possible. Eventually, it should be possible for the team to use a follow-the-sun support model. How your day will look; Your main responsibilities will be, leading the way in using Ansible to automate the deployment of services that make up the SaaS platform in Azure. You will work closely with the colleagues in Software Engineering, Product Management and Architecture to understand priorities and prioritise your workload accordingly. You will mentor team members (20% of your time), and will strive to eliminate waste and improve performance using tools such as New Relic. Powershell Scripting Skills. (Python is an advantage). Configuration Management experience. (Ansible is preferred). Deployment Orchestration. (Jenkins is preferred). Git source control. Desirable Skills; NetBackup and VMWare. Application Performance Management (APM) tools such as NewRelic and AppDynamics. Supporting network protocols including IP, TCP, HTTP, DNS, SSL.
