The global Academy team deals with all training and development for the firm's partners, lawyers and business services staff in the regions of London, Continental Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. The Academy team consists of 19 members and is responsible for Academy course delivery and Academy operations, based in Amsterdam and London. Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the role are: Liaison with Global HR and regional offices on training requirements for both Lawyers and Business Support to maintain the Firm's success. Scheduling the delivery of the Academy curriculum throughout the regions. Registration and promotion of training events through the Academy's Learning Portal. Ensuring that courses are well attended and delivered to a highly professional standard and without issue. Analysis of training events, in particular around attendance, cost and post course evaluation from participants. Providing an excellent level of customer service to global colleagues, via phone and email. Using your knowledge of our training programmes and learning portal to advise colleagues on training opportunities. Working to global service level agreements and quality adherence to ensure that the highest level of client service is provided at all times. Ongoing involvement in Continuous Improvement projects to ensure that the Academy operates as effectively and cost efficiently as possible. Controlling costs around course delivery. Providing on the ground support for Academy training events, including setting up training rooms, providing registers and consistently branded course materials and arranging the necessary equipment and catering requirements. Liaison with external suppliers such as trainers, hotels, restaurants. Co-ordination of all training event related activities to ensure all training sessions are delivered to the highest standards of service and professionalism. Working with colleagues in our Global Shared Services Centre in India, ensuring that work is effectively delegated, providing assistance and training when required. Supporting lawyers with their Continuing Legal Education/Bar queries and mandatory training compliance. Assisting with ad hoc projects and tasks that will add value to Firm's strategy Skills and Qualifications You will have a HBO degree and experience in an operations or a co-ordinating role. Course administration, background is preferred. Your past experience will ideally be in a professional services environment. You will have a good knowledge of MS Office and be open to learning new systems. You will be liaising with internal stakeholders and external contacts at all levels so you will have outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal) and be able to establish good relationships quickly. Your interpersonal skills and presentation is important because you will often find yourself acting as the face of The Academy both on the telephone and in person. You will be able to demonstrate a strong interest and aptitude for professional learning and development. Previous experience of Cornerstone on Demand would be beneficial. You will be capable of working with minimum supervision. Your strong organisational skills (being able to juggle tasks and deliver on deadlines) will be essential in this role. You will be proactive in thinking about how we can improve our service levels and then put these practical solutions in place. An excellent communicator, you should have an eye for detail, be quality-driven and thorough in your approach.
