Job Details This opening is for an Architect who will focus on the Finance & Business Intelligence (BI) portfolio within the Infrastructure and Core Systems area and, as such, the role holder will be conversant in a range of Finance & BI technologies. In cooperation with product management, solution architect plays a critical role in helping align teams in a common technical direction toward accomplishment of the mission, vision and roadmap. Work in cross-discipline teams that truly take a system view on solution development. Participate in definition of higher-level functional and non-functional requirements, analyse technical trade-offs, determine the major components and subsystems, and define the interfaces and collaborations between them. Understand solution context and work with the teams, customers and suppliers to help ensure fitness for the Firm environment. Understand complexities of large-scale solution development and apply Lean & Agile practices to address them where appropriate Key Responsibilities Participate in planning, definition and high-level design of the solution and explore solution alternatives. Define subsystems and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities to subsystems, understand solution deployment and communicate requirements for interactions with solution context. Work with customers, stakeholders and suppliers to establish high level solution intent; help establish the solution information models and documentation requirements. Establish critical non-functional requirements at solution level, participate in definition of others. Operate within the economic framework to validate the financial impact of design decisions. Work with portfolio stakeholders (in particular the Domain Architect and Product Manager), to develop, analyse, split and realise the implementation of Enabler epics. Participate in Release Planning activities, system and solutions demos, and inspect & adapt events. Define, explore and support the implementation of value streams and program (we call these "Portfolios") enablers to evolve solution intent; work directly with Agile teams to implement, explore or support them. Plan and develop the architectural runway in support of upcoming business features/capabilities. Work with Product Management to determine capacity allocation for enablement work (we have default rules to ensure we have capacity allocation to both business epics as well as Enabler epics). Support technology/engineering aspects of program and value stream Kanbans. Foster built-in quality and security. Joint responsibility with Product Manager to maintain the Portfolio roadmap. Be part of the extended Product Management Team (including Business Stakeholders, Product Manager, Domain Architect, GPG portfolio manager). Skills and Qualifications Skills: Technical expertise in Finance & Business Intelligence technologies. Extensive senior stakeholder management skills. Excellent communicator, able to motivate, coach and mentor a strong technical team. Knowledge of architecture frameworks and methods such as The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and the ability to develop and maintain personal architectural knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience: Previous experience of working for a global professional service environment or corporate organisation such as finance/banking. Apply as needed our Project Delivery framework practices and Scaled Agile practices (including waterfall projects delivery methods). Practical experience of working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment is preferable. Practical experience of working with Lean & Agile delivery tools such as Agile Central (or other similar tools e.g. JIRA) is preferable. Experience of solution architecture tools and techniques. Experience of working with multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments. Qualifications Educated to degree level in a Computing or business discipline or equivalent. Written and Verbal Communications Highly developed written communication skills and capable of producing global and sensitive communications to a varied audience at all levels in both Practice Areas and Business Services. Excellent verbal and interpersonal communications skills - some form of customer-facing interaction or consulting experience is a plus.
