An exciting opportunity arisen with a Tier 1 bank in London for a Director in Financial Institutions Trade, Receivables and Supply Chain Finance.

Position Purpose

You'll deal with customers who are intelligent and focused on adding value. To meet their expectations you'll need to be perceptive when spotting customer issues, creative when proposing solutions and not shy of showing your well-honed sales skills.

As part of the Bank's strategic initiative, we have created a number of new roles. This role is focused on driving the development of Trade, Receivables and Supply Chain Finance with targeted UK, EMEA and RoW sector within Large Corporate & Financial Institutions businesses. Sales activity will be consistent with wider relationship strategy, leveraging Bank's leading UK/European franchise and to date unrealised opportunities within it.

There will additionally be expectations on engagement in defining wider Trade, Receivables and Supply Chain Strategy, understanding and articulating the impact of regulatory change and managing the portfolio within agreed return metrics.

Key responsibilities are to:

* Define sales strategy for FI Trade Banks sector and secure strategic internal support from stakeholders, in conjunction with Head of Business, in order to identify and satisfy customer needs in the most appropriate way. At all times, meeting Bank's risk and profitability requirements to deliver targeted growth in the Trade, Receivables and Supply Chain Finance business.

* Proactively manage product relationships within the portfolio of existing and agreed target clients. Identify customer needs to develop, structure and review proposals to meet customer requirements. Recognise opportunities to develop further income and economic profit, recommending and implementing the appropriate solutions meeting Bank's risk and profitability requirements and aligned with the Relationship strategy.
* Prepare and submit credit applications in conjunction with Relationship Teams, aligned with defined strategy and engage with colleagues in product, sales support and risk as appropriate.
* Develop, implement and execute client sales and product relationship calling plans.
* Act as client point of contact for all transactions for Trade, Receivables and Supply Chain Sales , with the ability to discuss technical and operational aspects of transactions
* Identify product gaps or new product opportunities to influence the development of key new product service initiatives and more cost effective delivery channels
* Ensure customer treatment and other regulatory requirements are met and are compliant with Bank and Regulatory policy in order to protect and enhance the banks reputation
* Engage with internal stakeholders and related product partners to drive alignment in strategy to maximise the opportunity for Lloyds Bank, while ensuring adherence to Bank strategy and policy to protect the bank
* Supportthe active management of the trade portfolio as required
* Create and execute a constructive working relationship with Trade, Receivables and Supplier Finance Origination

* Deliver targeted revenue from clients and region as agreed, meeting established return and RWA thresholds

Building the business

* Assist in creating the strategy for Trade, Receivables and Supply Chain Finance for FI customers and agreed targets
* Support the further enhancement of the Bank Trade Finance proposition
* Raise profile of the Bank with key internal and external stakeholders


* Ensure high standard of customer service delivered to FI clients
* Uptier product relationships with key FI clients


* Understand and advise upon trade, receivables and supply chain transactional and market risk dynamics, feeding into risk and business strategy

People Development

* Enhance internal and external networks, becoming recognised as an authority on the Trade market
* Develop role into a well recognized and understood position within the wider organisation.
* Impart skills and knowledge to colleagues as appropriate

Competencies, Knowledge and Experience

Sound understanding Trade, Receivables and Supply Chain Finance products. The role requires the job holder to have extensive experience and appreciation of FI trade market, trade products and solutions both in primary and secondary market in Europe and or Middle East and Africa.

In-depth knowledge and established relationships, in the FI Trade sector in Europe and Middle East and Africa. Be able to originate bank to bank trade financing.


* Proven record of technical understanding of Trade, Receivables and Supply Chain products
* Demonstrable success in Trade Sales and Business Development
* Knowledge of risk profile and regulatory treatment of Trade and Supply Chain and associated risk and portfolio management practices


* Post graduate economic, finance and or management qualifications
* Experience working with Large Corporate and/or Global Corporate clients - preferably in a Trade capacity
