GBP26, 342 a year Do you have a sound track record of influencing decision makers? Do you understand how to monitor and influence policy? This exciting opportunity to join a highly-respected, dynamic charity offers a chance for a policy and campaigns specialist to make their mark and bring about real change for children in care and care leavers. With a good understanding of how to drive change, you'll be responsible for analysing government proposals, drafting consultation responses and articulating policy positions, as well as coming up with brilliant campaigning ideas for how to change practice, policy and attitudes in order to improve life for children in care. From behind-the-scenes influencing to public campaigning, you'll be the main player in our drive to improve the outcomes of young people who spend time in care, based in our communications and public affairs team. You will need to demonstrate solid understanding and experience of policy and campaigns work in a charity, and be a gifted communicator. Able to rapidly understand and analyse information, you also need to be able to communicate clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences. An understanding of the care system in England and of political systems in England are a must, but equally important is having a campaigner's mind-set, an eye for opportunities and a collaborative approach. You'll be principled and pragmatic, bringing energy, passion and creativity to our policy and campaigning work. Become is a small but influential national charity that punches above its weight, so your work has the potential to have a real impact on the lives of young people. If you're excited about making life better for children in care and young care leavers and believe you meet the requirements, we'd love to hear from you.
