A leading non-profit organisations is looking for a Finance Officer on a 3-6 months temporary contract. You will be based in Central London and this is an urgent requirement with an immediate start for the successful candidate. As the Finance Officer, you will coordinate the finance activities in order to deliver high quality support to the UK office. The post holder's objectives are to achieve timely and accurate reporting (internal and external), payroll services to the UK staff and International staff, sound financial management and provide seamless support to the UK office. Responsibilities Financial Accounting (65%) Prepare and maintain UK books of accounts Submit a monthly report to the Financial Controller Receive, review and process all supplier invoices and make payments when approved Processing all bank and cash transactions and reconcile all transactions. Submitting the bank reconciliation with the bank statement to the Financial Controller on a monthly basis Make payment for advances and expenses for staff travel Payroll International and UK (20%) Process the monthly UK and international staff payroll, ensuring direct transfer to staff salary accounts and remitting the payroll deductions to the correct government authorities Financial Systems Development (10%) Work with the Financial Controller to improve financial systems in the UK office, recommending change as part of the global improvement to provide timely and accurate financial information Legal, security and Risk Management (5%) Work with the external auditors in to complete required statutory audits Qualifications/experience required Part-qualified accountant in recognised global body e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA Minimum of a bachelor's degree from a recognised university Working knowledge of accounting software Experience in an accounting role including processing payroll Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft excel Good analytical and reporting skills High level of English, both written and spoken Strong ability to be able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
