These checks are only undertaken with consent, and in accordance with our legal and regulatory obligations Business Area - IT Role: Senior EUC Architect 6 month Contract Location: Based at Ashurst's London office Reporting to: Head of IT Architecture Hours of work - Monday to Friday, 09.30 to 17.30. You will be required to work such hours as are necessary to carry out your duties. Department/ Role Overview The purpose of this role is to work as part of the Architecture Team to design, document and facilitate the implementation of the Ashurst LLP application, technology and enterprise architectures through the various IT teams and technology partners. These IT Architectures must support the overall Ashurst LLP business strategy. This role reports to the Infrastructure Manager. Main responsibilities: Participate in the development and continuous improvement of: application and data architectures that are aligned to the business strategies and direction technology architectures that enable the application and data architecture Development architectures that enable Ashurst's IT to develop business solutions in the most efficient and effective manner adhering to the Ashurst IT Solution Design Principles. Ensure that these architectures are recognised as the road map for all business services and technical solutions. Stay abreast of developments in appropriate new technologies/services and participate in the investigation / assessment of the suitability of these to Ashurst's environment and business needs. Production of technical solution designs for assigned projects, and gaining acceptance and approval from internal stakeholders. Be an active participant in teams formed to progress projects and business initiatives Ensure that IT Architecture is, and is recognised as, a valuable asset to Ashurst LLP IT Governance: ensure that documented standards and working practices are followed highlight any non-conformance with documented standards and working practices with the Infrastructure Manager Promote an environment that encourages collaboration, team working and innovation both within the Architecture Team and across IT and other Ashurst LLP teams Act as an ambassador for Architecture and IT Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requires and internal policies Essential skills and experience: Knowledge and experience: Demonstrate good experience in the IT industry with expertise in many areas of infrastructure and applications, preferably in a technical or enterprise architecture capacity Have demonstrable experience in infrastructure design, strategy and architecture related activities Demonstrate a good knowledge of IT industry trends, suppliers and products, preferably in the legal sector Expert Level Knowledge of End User Computing architectures to include: VDI and Citrix, Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft AppV, profile management, BYOD Experience with application deployment methods Experience with encryption technologies for devices Experience with sizing, performance and high availability of EUC environments Experience with data backup, business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and technologies Good knowledge of Microsoft Technologies: Windows 7, 10 Active Directory Office 365 Other Application Types: Appsense, Persona management technologies Cloud (Azure) and Hybrid technologies Hardware Devices Blackberry, Apple, Windows Phone, Android Lenovo, Microsoft Surface, Tablets BYOD One or more of the following certifications are desired TOGAF VCP certification (VMware Certified Professional) Citrix MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or equivalent experience MCA (Microsoft Certified Architect) or equivalent experience Any Azure certifications People/Team Management Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal including active listening Ability to identify and analyse alternative approaches to dealing with issues and problems.
