We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring SENCO to lead on learning support for our cross college learners with SEN. You will ensure high quality curriculum provision and effective teaching and learning for our mainstream students on the SEN register.
The SENCO role at Haringey Sixth Form College is both exciting and demanding. Due to the diverse nature of the young people we support and the range and complexity of needs, no two days are ever the same. The successful candidate will be a strong leader with resilience and excellent communication and interpersonal skills with significant experience in the field of SEN with a thorough understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and a successful track record of raising the attainment of young people with SEN.
The SENCO is responsible for collating and submitting evidence for statutory assessment and will need to communicate with several local authorities and complete the various high needs funding applications that are required to secure additional support for post 16 learners. For this reason, previous experience of working with 6 th form or post 16 students would be advantageous, as would be previous experience of negotiating and communicating with Local Education Authorities.
If you are an ambitious and experienced teacher with a strong background in SEN who would love to inspire our students to achieve their best, then we encourage you to apply.
