The purpose is to match young people in care with positive, consistent and fun adult role models independent of the young people's existing networks. How you'll make a difference: By recruiting inspiring volunteers who can act as positive role models to children in care. By overseeing the activities between the volunteers and young people, ensuring they are safe, stimulating and fun. By demonstrating the benefits of the service to social work teams and commissioners and facilitating ongoing referrals. By ensuring young people in care are benefitting from supportive and caring relationships with their volunteers that positively impact their wellbeing and life chances. By publicising and promote volunteering opportunities with individuals, community groups, professionals and other relevant agencies and to scrutinise applications form potential volunteers. What you'll need: A minimum Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent in a related field (e.g. teaching). Experience and /or skills in volunteer recruitment, training and supervision. Ability to liaise with a wide range of individuals (e.g. social workers, foster carers, young people). Excellent writing skills (e.g. to compile quarterly reports to local authorities).
