King's College Hospital Charity works to improve the care offered to patients and service users of the King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust by fundraising and giving grants that enhance services and facilities, support research and development, and improve the working environment for staff. The Charity is a catalyst for innovation and excellence in the Foundation Trust, supporting advances in its world-leading clinical services. The Charity funds projects which improve every aspect of health; it does not replace core NHS funding, but instead, funds projects which go 'above and beyond' NHS-funded services to deliver the best outcomes for patients. Be challenged King's College Hospital Charity has recently been created to raise funds for the Foundation Trust and is now building a fundraising team capable of realising their collective ambitions. The Community Fundraising Manager is responsible for delivering sustainable income from the local community by planning and delivering a wide range of events and community fundraising initiatives. This will cover direct community fundraising activities, acquiring new individual donors in volume, opening doors to major donors, companies, local trusts, schools and local organisations. It will also lead our challenge events programme, which includes third party mass participation events. This role gives us an incredible opportunity for us to develop our community fundraising strategy that maximises upon the diversity in our local communities of Dulwich, Camberwell and Bromley, and celebrates the great potential to increase our income. We benefit from the support of hundreds of grateful patients and their families who volunteer as fundraisers, a network of staff Charity Champions and a pioneering hospital volunteer programme with around 700 volunteers. Our Community Fundraising Manager will work to grow our number of volunteers, building the visibility of fundraising across the Hospital as well as the local community. Be involved Coming from a background in community fundraising, you will be entrepreneurial in nature. Proactive and able to spot opportunities, you will have shaped community fundraising strategy in previous roles, and will bring a strategic and systematic approach to building our community fundraising. With a good understanding of best practice around community and events fundraising, and excellent relationship building skills, you will help us to develop an energetic, creative and strategic community fundraising function.
