A leading manufacturer of BMS/HVAC controls is looking to recruit an experienced BEMS Project Manager to join their busy Projects division based in Hampshire.

Job outline:

Project Managers are tasked with the primary objective of coordinating and managing project orders, in accordance with an agreed programme of works, and to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.

Applications for work carried out must be made to customers on a monthly basis and all variations to contract need to be priced and applied for.

To maintain at all times effective communication channels with the Contracts Director.


To assume overall responsibility and ensure effective management of all Systems projects assigned to their direct control.

To assist the Contracts Director in achieving the Companies objectives.

To check any projects handed over from System Sales Department, to ensure that the price, contract conditions, equipment content are to the company requirements and that the project is deliverable from time, financial and technical aspects.

Produce and submit programme of works at the outset of the project and update regularly in line with any notified deviations.

Forward plan and allocate workload for each project and inform this information to the Contracts Director, Technical Manager and Commissioning Manager(s) in a timely manner.

To ensure that close financial control is maintained on 'live' projects and that timely applications for payment are made monthly, together with all necessary supporting documentation, to facilitate the timely, uncomplicated collection of monies due.

Ensure that all correspondence is answered promptly, claims for variations, price increases, prolongation and delays are registered and each event is properly assessed for cost recovery.

Compile and produce commissioning files and ensure that all information required for the successful commissioning of the project is contained therein. Acquire commissioning files at the completion of each project and produce and submit O & M manuals.

Ensure that a signed Commissioning Acceptance form is acquired from the appropriate Commissioning Engineer at project completion, to demonstrate successful completion and acceptance of the works.

To monitor the performance of all projects under their control by attending regular site meetings to ensure Company objectives are met and successful delivery of the contract.

To constantly seek ways of improving working methods and profitability.


Dependent upon your industry knowledge and experience, or as this increases, you could be expected to handle projects in excess of GBP500k in value.

For this you will need to be commercially aware, enthusiastic and prepared to take on the challenges created by the planning and implementation of projects from order through to handover.

A PRINCE 2 qualification in Project Management will also greatly assist in successfully fulfilling this higher level role.


Essential ONC/HNC in an electrical or mechanical engineering discipline.
A logical approach to solving problems.

Experience within a Project Management or Contracting environment.
Prince 2 qualification in Project Management, or equivalent
