There are currently 4.5 million people in the UK living with diabetes, and 11.9 million more at increased risk of getting Type 2 diabetes. The National Diabetes Audit (NDA) is a high-profile national clinical audit, established in 2003 to monitor the quality of care provided to people with diabetes in England and Wales. The NDA is a central part of Diabetes UK's new drive to transform diabetes care and informs policy, campaigns and local service planning. The Engagement Lead is a pivotal role in the NDA, managing the partnership with NHS Digital and ensuring that clinicians and people with diabetes are involved in the development, delivering and implementation of the NDA programme. Central to the role is working collaboratively with internal and external delivery partners to maximise opportunities for engagement in the NDA. The successful applicant will develop a national engagement strategy and lead the implementation of systematic engagement with key stakeholders to: increase awareness of the NDA promote utilisation of the NDA findings to drive improvement maximise participation in the audits implement quality improvements across the diabetes care pathway You will also lead the development of communication materials and reports, for both clinical audience and people with diabetes. You'll be used to working in a busy, cross-functional team, working on several projects, managing and working with stakeholders at all levels. An ability to manage, influence and foster strong relationships will come naturally to you. Experienced in managing projects with multiple audiences, you will enjoy managing complex programmes of work.
