SHP is a London-wide charity working to prevent homelessness and help vulnerable and socially excluded people to transform their lives. Each day our staff work with individuals to tackle the underlying causes of homelessness, such as poor mental health or drug and alcohol dependency. From supporting people in crisis to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment, we make a difference to 7,000 lives every year. A brilliant opportunity has arisen to work within a specialist team working within an established Recovery Service and across the wider organisation. This unique opportunity would involve supporting a highly successful Peer Mentoring Programme which is recognised for changing its participant's lives plus enabling the roll out of an organisational Peer Mentor and Group Programme. Your specialist knowledge of the issues facing those in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction and those with complex needs will enable you to provide high quality support and development opportunities to Peer Mentor volunteers. Coupled with your experience of designing and delivering training, this will allow you to support the development of an organisational wide Structured Group Programme. This is a new and diverse role that requires enthusiasm, commitment and a solution focused approach. It is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your supervisory skills, work closely and effectively with partners, stakeholders and internal contacts and work creatively in response to the needs of the organisation.
