Women for Women International was founded in 1993 to help women survivors of war rebuild their lives, their families and communities. The UK office was established in 2006 and has grown a strong and effective supporter base. At the heart of our fundraising has always been our Special Events portfolio, which continues to grow from strength to strength each year, generating our largest source of unrestricted funding and cultivating a hub of creative, inspirational supporters, both new and existing who add value across our organisation individually and through their networks. The Special Events Officer works closely with the Special Events Manager in developing, implementing, and reviewing an events strategy and working closely with a group of major donors and VIP supporters through committees to maximise them for the organisation. Our Special Events portfolio has an ambitious 6-figure target from direct activity as well as identifying and delivering corporate sponsorship and gifts-in-kind to support the events portfolio. As well as supporting their line manager with our flagship event, the Special Events Officer will be responsible for delivering the #SheInspiresMe events through the year to achieve a range of objectives. Additionally the Special Events Officer leads the recruitment and supervision of our rolling Special Events internship programme.
