Campus: Portland Place, London W1B 1NT The Institute of Physics (IOP) is a leading scientific society. We are a charitable organisation with a worldwide membership of more than 50,000, working together to advance physics education, research and application. Our work encourages people to develop their interest in physics, whether in the classroom, in colleges and universities, in businesses, or at home. We do this by breaking traditional boundaries and crossing into the arts, sport and innovation. We are searching for a new Institute Finance Manager, reporting to the Finance Director in Bristol. Based in the London IOP office, you will work collaboratively across our Bristol based finance team and central London IOP charity, being a key part of the finance management team in Bristol, and representing all aspects of finance service delivery to London. You will work in collaboration with a range of key stakeholders from end users of finance services, operational managers and budget holders through to directors, non-executives and trustees. Working as a peer to the management team in the charity side of our organisation, you will bring a different perspective to decision making, developing commercial acumen across the business through the provision of coaching, advice and leadership on finance/business matters. You will come with excellent and up to date technical accounting knowledge gained in similar non-profit organisations and carry experience of supporting and developing strategic financial planning processes. You will have a proven track record in high-level engagement, with the ability to influence, coach and motivate to achieve the very best for the IOP, and ultimately, for the memberships with whom we represent. This job is based in Central London with 25% travel to Bristol. Closing date for formal applications: 9am, Friday 22nd September 2017
