The Opportunity Managing a team of technical specialists, you will lead the overall strategic development and direction of Plan International's global programme priorities and gender equality work, ensuring that Plan International is a leader in the relevance, excellence and impact of its programmes worldwide. In collaboration with other departments and offices in Plan, you will develop and manage a structured and coordinated global model of technical networks that deliver consistent, high quality, and cost effective technical leadership and support to all of Plan International's programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to provide substantial thought leadership, expertise and coordination within Plan International's gender, inclusion, girls focus and overall programme priorities and approaches. Driving innovation, quality and results by developing global guidance and supporting the scale up of effective programme approaches you will also support resource mobilization for global programme priorities and models through development of concepts and engagement with potential donors. The Individual A strong, ambitious and inspiring leader able to balance strategic vision and practical impact with astute political analysis you will be a credible and influential networker, adept at building and sustaining key strategic partnerships on the international stage. Your track record will include developing innovative, impactful and high quality programme strategy within international development and gender equality. You will have a deep understanding of trends in the development and humanitarian sectors, including in particular the sustainable development goals and their implications. You will bring a keen passion for human-rights based approaches, gender equality and inclusion, as well as the role of children and young people as agents of change. Location: International Headquarters, Woking (approximately 23 minutes from London Waterloo). Other locations where Plan has a legal entity may also be considered although this role must be based from Woking at least 50% of the time.
