You will need sound judgment and experience of working closely with and influencing a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve your objectives. Depending on the role, post holders will have the opportunity to: • Lead substantial work streams with responsibility for managing small teams to deliver ministerial priorities • Sponsor projects through collaborative working with a range of stakeholders, both within government and the wider rail industry • Develop, oversee and implement delivery plans in partnership with other delivery bodies • Directly lead solutions to ensure robust management of project and programme delivery, including managing risks effectively to give the Senior Responsible Officer and relevant governance boards assurance that delivery is duly governed and controlled • Proactively and professionally representing the Department for Transport at external stakeholder meetings • Be a part of the work to transition projects from development to a live operation, working with others to ensure enhanced passenger s services are delivered • Act as a senior client programme manager to work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, Network Rail and relevant governing bodies to ensure projects are delivered in a timely manner and within budgetary constraints • Communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including Ministers and the public.
