You will have a vital role to play in helping us achieve our mission of offering homeless and disadvantaged people the opportunity to fulfil their potential and move towards an independent and positive future. Depaul operates housing advice and support services within HMP Isis, HMP Thameside and HMP/YOI Feltham. Assisting both young and adult offenders, these projects are integral to preventing homelessness and contribute to reducing re-offending, with the objective of securing suitable and sustainable accommodation on release. The ideal candidate will be experienced in the homelessness sector, specifically around providing accommodation and offering information and advice. Working under the guidance of the Team Leader, you will be responsible for monitoring referrals and responding to the needs of service-users who are at risk of being homeless on release from custody. To be a success in this role you will have experience of working with homeless or vulnerable clients and/or offenders in the criminal justice system with an in-depth knowledge of housing, homelessness and resettlement work. A firm understanding of the challenges facing young and adult homeless people leaving prison, as well as a genuine commitment to Depaul's values is essential. You must be able to demonstrate good communication skills with both service-users and partner agencies.
