Energy, Technology and Climate Policy MPA

This specialised Master's in Public Administration is designed to inform the next generation of decision makers working in the field of climate and energy policy.

The degree prepares graduates to tackle today's complex policy challenges, from mitigating climate change to developing affordable, accessible, sustainable and renewable energy. The curriculum is tailored for professionals working in the public, private or third sectors who want to gain the analytical tools, practical skills and knowledge to leverage technology and innovate climate and energy policy. The capstone of the degree is a 9-month project on a policy problem for a real-world client.

After graduating from this MPA degree, students will be able to pursue careers in a variety of energy/climate related roles within the public, private or third sector. Future career destinations include government, independent administrative authorities, international and governmental organisations and public agencies. Graduates are also equipped to take up positions that require understanding of public policy, energy and the environment in major companies, consultancy firms, think tanks, NGOs or other organisations.

Through the MPA programme, students will:

  • gain a greater awareness of current issues and developments in energy and climate policy
  • develop a greater awareness of the knowledge systems underpinning successful policy-making processes
  • learn how to communicate with scientists and engineers, policymakers and industry experts
  • develop the skills to mobilise science and technology knowledge to address the societal challenges they care about.
