We are looking for an experienced and creative individual to join us as PR Executive, helping to drive Save the Children's UK PR activity, creating engaging campaigns that impassion the public and generate outstanding coverage to support our key areas of work in campaigns, emergencies and fundraising. Our Marketing and Fundraising divisions exist to inspire millions of people - from individuals to large corporate organisations - to support our quest for change. As PR Executive you will lead on individual projects as well as support the wider team on high-profile and impactful PR campaigns which build our brand, grow our supporter base and help us fundraise. You will regularly pitch stories and ideas to media, and develop strong relationships across a range of media outlets. In addition you will: Lead and participate in brainstorms and carry out research to develop creative ideas for PR campaigns Regularly pitch stories and ideas to media, and develop strong relationships across a range of media outlets Plan and take part in celebrity ambassador field visits, leading on the production of all media materials Track and collate media coverage and produce coverage reports Represent the PR team with staff in other departments contributing PR strategies and media messaging expertise. To be successful you will have proven experience and interest in PR with excellent communication skills, including first-class written and verbal skills. You will have the ability to tailor communications for different audiences in order to achieve desired outcome and have developed pitching experience. A creative thinker, you will generate original and innovative PR ideas and convert those ideas into concrete media coverage. In addition you will have: Strong industry contacts, including media as well as the ability to network both externally and internally through Save the Children The ability to use Gorkana and other media databases A good understanding of the external environment and the ability to use that knowledge creatively Knowledge and experience of the latest social media developments and technology The ability to demonstrate results and delivery, evaluating and building on your successes.
