Digital Technologies and Policy MPA

This Master's of Public Administration degree prepares future leaders and decision makers working in policy to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by today's fast changing digital technologies.

Graduates gain practical grounding in policy processes, analytic tools and frameworks, along with insights on the impact of new and emerging technologies and issues such as cyber security, the digital economy, the Internet of Things, Internet governance and online human rights.

The innovative, flexible and practical programme ensures graduates can develop strategies, policies and guidelines and collaborate with a range of stakeholders across the public and private sectors working with digital technology. The capstone of the degree is a nine-month project on a policy problem for a real-world client.

Through the MPA programme, students will:

  • gain a greater awareness of current issues and developments digital technology and its impact on public policy
  • develop a greater awareness of the knowledge systems underpinning successful policy-making processes
  • learn how to communicate with technologists, policymakers and industry experts
  • develop the skills to mobilise technology expertise to address the societal challenges they care about.
