The Wiston Estate includes extensive farmland, woodland, residential and commercial property and also Wiston House which is leased as a conference centre. The Estate is privately owned by the Goring family. The Estate is managed from an onsite office. It is run commercially but also to high ethical standards and with the interest of maintaining a strong local community. ROLE The purpose of the job is primarily to provide a bookkeeping service, to assist in accountancy matters and financial reporting. There is potential for it to grow into a financial controller role in the future. Duties To provide a full bookkeeping service. Tasks will cover all aspects of bookkeeping including raising invoices and rent demands and receiving payments, monitoring debtors and raising statements, year-end work and liaison with external accountants, VAT returns, monthly reconciliations, monthly reporting, coding and inputting of invoices and making payments, maintenance of a fixed asset register. To produce financial and property management reports using the Landmark system and to engage with head's of department on their monthly budgets. To provide basic accountancy advice and beyond this to seek specialist advice from the external accountants, providing them with the information they require to give this advice. To maintain the Estate's property management software in conjunction with the accounts package Banking, including maintaining bank statements, regular liaison with Hoares Bank and banking of cash locally. Payroll to include Pension Scheme & Private medical scheme Responsibility for the petty cash system Responsibility for issuing and overseeing the use of staff credit cards Providing administrative support and backup within the Estate Office
