Special Events Manager

We fund thousands of scientists in the UK carrying out cardiovascular research and our work has been central to the discoveries of vital treatments that are helping to change the face of the UK's fight against heart disease. About the role We are looking for a Special Events Manager for a 12 month maternity leave cover contract to deliver the Philanthropy & Partnerships cultivation and stewardship events portfolio and the new BHF Annual Fundraising Gala, The Beating Hearts Gala. Reporting into the Director of Philanthropy & Partnerships, you will support the teams in the delivery of their strategies through managing a programme of high quality cultivation and stewardship events. About you We are looking for someone who is positive, proactive and creative, who can influence and negotiate at all levels, who will work collaboratively across the BHF and beyond. To be successful in the position, you will have strong event and time management skills with good attention to detail. You'll have a successful track record of developing and delivering large scale, high value special and fundraising gala events in a charity environment; experience of managing budgets and of successful working with senior volunteers and staff. You will also have good knowledge of current and forthcoming data protection legislation and an awareness of how this impacts on activity. You'll be joining a passionate and highly skilled team of 170 fundraisers, during the implementation of our exciting new fundraising strategy with many opportunities for personal development and learning.
