The Scope Norton Rose Fulbright offers comprehensive legal advice across the major financial and commercial centers in Europe. Through our June 2017 combination with Chadbourne & Parke our platform has expanded to include Istanbul, and in recent months we have also opened new offices in Luxemburg and Monaco. The Business Development Executive will provide support on day-to-day and strategic Marketing and Business Development ("MBD") activity for our practices in these three offices, such as business planning, budgeting, pitches, client targeting, digital marketing and events. This London-based role reports into the Head of Business Development, Europe. The Role Strategic marketing and business development planning You will support the office heads and partners within these offices on specific MBD initiatives, using the full marketing mix to further build the reputation of our practices and to win new work. Activities include: Assisting with the development and preparation of business plans, budget proposals and local office participation in global business development programmes Monitoring agreed actions and helping fee-earners to meet their commitments Producing innovative pitch and marketing materials Working both with the Head of Business Development and directly with partners, you will assist teams in the production of marketing and pitch materials. This includes: Project management of transactional bids; providing input on qualification and team formations; drafting, reviewing and editing content; managing document development (utilizing our Global Service Centre ("GSC") in Manila); ensuring adherence to branding requirements; ensuring adherence to pricing procedures; ensuring follow up is sought from client post pitch; tracking and acting on actions which arise Keeping all regional bid content up-to-date and working with the GSC to manage all new / bespoke input Managing the design and content of marketing collateral Develop our relationships with clients Together with the Head of Business Development and the central client development team, assisting with the development of local opportunities with global and regional focus clients as well as target clients of each office. Activities include: Supporting best practice and the initiatives of the client development team Conducting sector or organisation research, utilizing the GSC Facilitating participation in our client feedback programme; working with the Head of Business Development to track and act on actions arising from interviews Maintaining awareness of relevant global and local marketing products which can be used for client development and dialogue Corporate communications Make sure all marketing communications channels are exploited to convey consistent messages about the offices, our capabilities and experience - including the development of the use of social media - in consultation with the central digital team. Tasks include: Using internal communications channels to raise awareness of local activity and opportunities Assisting fee earners on updaters and directory submissions, in cooperation with the central PR and Directories teams where necessary Ensuring on and offline marketing collateral is compliant with visual identity guidelines, working in conjunction with the central E-media and Brand and Design teams Updating the office intranet and internet web pagesWorking with the Head of Business Development and local partners, you will work on the planning and implementation of high-impact client events. This includes: Events management Sourcing client entertainment options and managing bookings Putting together invitations and invite lists bespoke to the event Organising the arrangements and overseeing local implementation from London Reporting on ROI following the event and ensuring leads are followed up on Business Development Systems Co-ordinating contributions and input into business development systems including InterAction (CRM), Experience Management, bids and CV databases for supporting initiatives such as events, bids, key client and target programmes, experience statement compilation and legal directory submission Integrating use of systems into all activity according to best practice Assisting fee earners and their secretaries with contact management Skills and Experience Required Graduate calibre with demonstrable and/or professionally recognised marketing or communications qualification (such as CIM, etc) Significant relevant marketing and organisational experience Experience of working in a legal and/or professional services environment Knowledge of the business environment in Istanbul, Luxemburg or Monaco is an advantage but not essential Understands when to act and when to ask Builds trust amongst international fee earning team and wider stakeholder community Understands the need and has the ability to manage expectations Good attention to detail Strong written and oral communication skills Confident Willingness to take on additional responsibility and deputise for their line manager when required Sound working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel Our business principles are Quality, Unity, Integrity.
