Financial Crime Compliance aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Compliance risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Responsive team, within the Risk, Response and Issue Validation division of the Global FCRSA department.

The roleholder will:

- Support the Global Head of FCR Responsive Specialised Assurance to identify and review areas that pose a material financial crime risk to the bank.
- Support the delivery of an effective Risk and Response target operating model across business lines, countries and functions.
- Conduct activities that have been prioritised by senior management, in order to mitigate FCC risks.
- Provide AB&C, AML and Sanctions SME to business lines, countries and functions globally.
- Support regional/ country FCRSA teams with specialist resource, where an ad-hoc response is required.
- Support regional/ country FCRSA teams in the delivery of their risk based annual plans, when local resources are constrained.

To be successful in the role, it is likely that you will meet the following requirements:

- Ability to carry out bespoke reviews in specialised areas, creating innovative tests for risks that have not been previously assessed.
- Strong analytical skills, preferably including a high level of Excel proficiency.
- Ability to clearly articulate the financial crime implications of risks and identified issues.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of AB&C, AML and Sanctions.
- Expertise and experience of FCC / Risk.
- Significant compliance or relevant audit / risk experience covering a wide range of business areas.
- An understanding of the regulatory environment, expectations, interpretation of rules and guidance together with other relevant regulations, codes and HSBC Group Standards.
- Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning.
- Confidence to interact with senior management within FCC, regional and local businesses.
- Demonstrable financial services experience.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge in order to enhance the commercial success of FCC.
- Strong understanding of the key principles of risk assessment, monitoring and testing.
