A role for a Java Developer who wants to cross train into Scala and gain experience with Big Data has been made available with one of London's leading Data Analytics Companies services the Cyber Security sector. This company have built a platform that is used by some of the largest companies in New York and London to monitor the cyber security risks and manage their securities investment. This is done by consuming large volumes of client data and analysing this to build an overall picture of their cyber security risk. On a Java Developer you will be working on a number of different projects to drive the business forward. You will be working on the backend system that enables this company to ingest large volumes of data from their clients, building the frameworks that allow the data scientist to analyse this data and gain insight and work across building the APIs that integrate their platform with their customers as well and pass on data to the front end dashboard. In addition, there will also be R&D and proof on concept projects to sink your teeth into almost on a weekly project. Technologies that you will get to work with include Java, Scala, Spring, Hadoop, Spark and Kafka to name just a few. There are a few technical requirements for this role. First you will be a Java Developer working with at least Java 7 in an enterprise environment, have experience of working with Spring on at least one project, experience working with Hibernate and some experience working with RESTful web services. In addition, any exposure to Scala or Big Data tech would be nice but not a must have.
