Are you an Accounts Senior who has strong experience in preparing statutory accounts and VAT returns, looking for your next challenge? Are you currently working for a small or medium sized practice firm and now looking to upgrade to a good quality medium sized practice firm which is based in Central London? Are you looking to work for a firm where you can gain exposure to larger clients and better quality work, but also have a good work life balance? If so, this growing independent accountancy practice firm in a prime location in Zone 1 North West London is looking to recruit a new member of staff due to impressive growth over the last few years. Based between the accounts and VAT / Bookkeeping department, your role will be varied, and will be split 50% preparing statutory accounts and 50% VAT returns and bookkeeping. You will be assisting both departments but in the short term be able to be based 100% in one of the departments. You will also gain exposure to some ad hoc and advisory based projects. Your role will also include an element of staff supervision for more junior members of staff. Your client base will be varied and include an impressive array of SME businesses (up to GBP20m turnover) based in Central London and surrounding home counties.

To be considered for this newly created role it is likely you will be a qualified ACCA or qualified by experience, with at least 5 years experience working for a UK based practice firm. Your current role must include the above duties, specifically the preparation of statutory accounts and VAT returns and you must also be happy to carry out some bookkeeping assignments. You must also have experience of the non standard VAT schemes such as the margin scheme, flat rate, partial exemption rules, place of supply rules etc. You must be from a general practice background and be looking to work in another general practice role. Experience of sage and Xero would be a big advantage since most of this firms clients are moving over to Xero. You must also be a team player, and be able to work to tight deadlines.
