The department We are offering the opportunity for a Business Development Executive to join the Banking & Finance practice and work with the Senior Business Development Manager to support in the delivery of the ambitious business development (BD) and marketing plans the practice and the Firm holds. The role will also involve working closely with the Financial Institutions Sector. Purpose of role Dentons' banking practice is the largest department in UKMEA and we are on the panels for the majority of all financial institutions in the UK. As such, client account management is an important aspect of the role where the successful candidate will support the senior manager in ensuring the smooth running of the key client accounts including strategic input to develop relationships and grow revenue. The reporting process for the banks is detailed and you will be involved in ensuring all reporting is captured in a timely, efficient and effective manner. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic to develop a campaign idea relevant for all Financial Institutions and drive it from conception to completion. A strict attention to detail, with a methodical approach to completing tasks, an ability to prioritise your workload, and to communicate with all levels of peers, with excellent written skills, a tenacious attitude and an ability to work to tight deadlines will ensure success in this role. Responsibilities Assisting in the smooth running of our key accounts including preparing relationship maps, business plans, tracking activity and ensuring all actions are carried out. To attend and be involved in Client Service Teams for a number of banks. Managing the delivery of compelling marketing and client meeting material into print-ready and web format (e.g. experience statements, sector-specific brochures, newsletters, presentations, pitches and event material) After creating marketing material, working with our digital team to publish it on the Firm's multiple channels (eg. Intranet, portal, website, social media) Implementing business and marketing plans for key banking clients Working with various groups within the practice to help them deliver on their objectives Coordinating and participating in pitches relevant to the practice, contributing to the progression of new business opportunities and driving action around the preparation for and follow up to marketing activities with a view to closing new business Managing the Financial Institutions and Banking practice portal - our one-stop shop for all marketing and client meeting material Coordinating and drafting legal directory submissions Undertaking market and client research, including keeping up to date with the relevant changes affecting the practice Supporting the Business Development Manager and the PR and Communications team to raise the profile of the practice via various communication channels - both internally and externally Helping the Senior Business Development Manager to identify suitable events to raise the profile and generate leads for the practice, including external conferences and sponsorship opportunities Working closely with the Events team to plan, execute and follow up on internal and external events Attending and engaging with clients at events such as seminars, workshops and training, where appropriate Coordinating maintenance of client information on our CRM system Actively getting involved with sector and firm-wide projects as and when they arise Promoting a cross-selling culture within and outside the Banking practice Required experience, skills and attributes Technical Experience and Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Good IT skills, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint Previous experience in a professional services environment is an advantage, as is working in the real estate sector A business development background is required CIM or other relevant qualification an advantage Personal Skills/Attributes Ability to work to short deadlines and in a non-directive environment Ability to interact effectively at all levels and be a good team player A strong eye for detail A willingness to learn, be adaptable and comfortable with change Strong organisational skills Ability to project professionalism and enthusiasm at all times Language Capabilities We are a truly global law firm and as such, always welcome hearing from those with foreign language capabilities.
