JOB TITLE: Registered Staff Nurse - Open Day

WORKING HOURS: Up to 35 hours per week on a shift basis

THE COMPANY: Our client are a local charity with a big ambition: to help everyone face death informed, supported and pain free. Providing expert hospice care, our client is there for people in West Sussex and East Surrey when life comes full circle and are rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission for the work they carry out. Our clients are recognised locally as the leading experts in palliative care, delivering personalised care in the community and due to continued growth, they now have opportunities for Registered Staff Nurses (Inpatient unit) and experienced Nursing Assistants (Inpatient/Community settings) and are holding an open day Wednesday 27 September 2017 from 3 pm until 7 pm where you can pop in any time to meet their friendly team. THE ROLE: As a Registered Staff Nurse you'll work in the Crawley, West Sussex and East Surrey area as part of an integrated team of nurses and nursing assistants delivering high quality care to patients referred to our client's Hospice, and
their families.

In partnership with the hospice's multi professional team, you'll participate in planning and delivering responsive, compassionate and effective patient centred care.

This nursing role demands sound evidenced based clinical knowledge of end of life care
plus clear and effective communication skills. You'll participate in the hospice's learning and
development and governance programmes in collaboration with other members of the team.
You'll have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Using team work and
cooperation, you'll contribute to a positive, supportive and professional working environment.

**Please note full person specifications for the Registered Staff Nurse's role can be obtained before the open day and will be sent out once applied online and registered your interest.

THE CANDIDATE: For the Registered Staff Nurse's role in Crawley, West Sussex and East Surrey you must be be a Registered Nurse with valid PIN ideally with at least 3 months post qualification experience in a palliative care setting but is not essential. What is essential is you have Up-to-date evidence of Minimum level competency in Communication, Clinical practice / Leadership Education and Training, Grief, Loss and Bereavement, but also have IV skills and a good understanding of RCN competencies. You should be a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who is passionate about delivering high levels of care and nursing.
