Lead IT Auditor, real visibility and work/life balance! GBP75k base
A well respected insurance company is looking to hire a Lead IT Auditor who can come in and take on the real responsibility you can only really expect to gain working within a smaller team.
Intellectual agility is key, and it is critical that you are able to think beyond standard audit work programs and really execute reviews from cradle to grave. As such you will be afforded a high degree of visibility with senior stakeholders and will be expected to cope with pushback diplomatically, pragmatically and effectively.
The most likely candidate will have trained in a Big Four firm - possibly a manager looking to move out, or perhaps already done so and currently working in another internal audit function elsewhere. You will have at least 4 years relevant IT audit experience covering all aspects of technology - infrastructure, integrated applications, and ideally some exposure to change and projects assurance also. Insurance or financial services experience would be particularly useful too, though not a pre-requisite. Our client is more interested in ability and in genuine potential than in time spent.
This is a predominantly UK focussed role however there will be limited international travel required as you will be involved in global thematic reviews, giving a degree of complexity not always available in smaller teams. In terms of reviews you can expect some, but increasingly less, time dedicated to core technology reviews but more likely integrated reviews - end to end, where you will look at business processes, in addition audits such as Cyber governance, BCM/DR, IT transformation, data protection, and a business critical major service provider transition.
The role can be based out of either their London office with approximately 20% travel to their Sussex site - where much of their technology infrastructure is housed - or vice versa.
The Head of IT Audit has great industry experience and a reputation for developing the team and empowering them wherever possible. A better work/life balance than can often be expected from the City is also on the table.
