Fertility Nurse Salary: GBP28,000 - GBP35,000Location: Central LondonHours: 37.5hours Shifts: Monday - Friday (5 days per week)The post holder will provide clinical support to all patients at the Clinic and work within the terms of the HFEA Code of Practice, NMC Professional Code of Practice and Care Quality Commission Standards.The post holder must understand the levels of confidentiality expected during their work within the unit.The post holder should have the ability to work unsupervised and in an organised, professional manner.Clinical DutiesTo discuss treatment options with patients as requiredPatients treatments are performed accurately and efficiently as per clinical competenciesTo inform patients of treatment outcomes and discuss the implicationsImplications counsellingResponsibility that own patient case load is managed effectively and follow through following the patients nurse co-ordination talksEnsure documentation is completed on IDEAS all electronic checklists and alerts filled in as appropriateEnsure telephone calls are dealt with correctly, appointments booked and messages returned the same dayEnsure that liaison within in the team is timely and efficientAssist with Phlebotomy as requiredAssistance is given to doctors / senior nurses in specialised treatmentAble to set up and assist with all procedures in the theatre room and discuss procedure and risks with patientsAble to recover patients post operatively after their procedure and discuss all aspects of their care and discharge patient safelyAble to set up and assist with embryo transfers and discuss appropriately with procedure the procedure and the policy of elective single embryo transferAble to scan during the embryo transfer procedure competentlyComply with professional registration (NMC) and PREP requirementsConfidentiality is maintainedHFEA Code of Practice and licence conditions are adhered toTo be proactive in ensuring that risk management procedures and best practice procedures are in place and adhered to with the clinical departmentAny other duties required by management are completedClinical Equipment and StockTo manage clinical resources in the most cost-effective wayAll clinical equipment used is kept in good orderClinical stock is managed effectivelyTrainingNew staff are trained to a competent levelTo take part in all training opportunities including in-house counselling and CPR sessionsIf you are interested in this position or would like to hear more information then please call Timothy on .
