The Learner Support team at the College are seeking to recruit exceptional and dedicated Learner Assistants, with a wide range of interpersonal skills including passion and empathy. The ideal candidates must be resilient individuals who have the drive to take an energetic approach to education and be willing to undertake a variety of activities with our SEN students.

The successful candidates will need to be dedicated to student achievement and be committed to ensuring students realise their potential by providing exciting learning opportunities that will both inspire and challenge. This is key, as you will be required to support a range of students, either on a 1:1 or in small group basis.

Our SEN students require a range of assistance including additional educational support, emotional and social development and in some cases individual needs support including proactively ensuring the therapeutic care of some students with multiple learning difficulties or disabilities. A minority of our students may require occasional personal care.

We are looking for a bank of Learner Assistants with the essential qualities of excellent communication skills, who are able to work effectively as part of a team, while also using their own initiative.

Successful candidates will be qualified to a Level 2/GCSE English and Maths - Grade C or above, or equivalent.

It is not a requirement to hold a Teaching Assistant qualification on application.

A friendly and professional team who have previous experience in these areas will be on hand to support and guide appropriately.

This post is subject to a DBS check.

Closing date: Friday 15th September 2017 (by noon).

Interviews are provisionally planned for Wednesday 20th September in Eastbourne.

To apply, please follow the job board application instructions to submit your CV. You will then be sent an email directing you to the College Careers Portal to complete your application.
