Girlguiding is recruiting a Safeguarding Support Assistant reporting to the Operational Manager, Safeguarding Team, to work within our Operations Directorate. The Safeguarding Support Assistant will be required to ensure the safeguarding of children and adults coming into contact with Guiding by operating an initial triage service, managing welfare and support cases and working in partnership with Safeguarding Officers charged with the oversight of the safeguarding of children and adults. He or she will also be required to provide administrative support, advice and guidance to the membership in all matters relating to safeguarding and to be aware and reactive to International and National safeguarding issues. He or she must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience of working in a highly pressured environment as well as the ability to communicate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Due to the nature of the work, weekend and evening working will be required, at sites outside of London on occasion, for which time off in lieu will be taken Girlguiding values the differences that a diverse workforce brings and is committed to inclusivity, and to employing and supporting a diverse workforce.
