Payroll Administrator - City of London

A leading boutique firm based in the heart of London, providing exceptional audit, tax and business advisory services. Being a service provider to niche sectors, communication and problem-solving skills will be at the forefront of the training and development. Candidates should be able to work independently whilst still considering the needs to the whole practice and its clients.

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our growing team as a payroll administrator, with further scope to expand the role into other areas.

 

The role of Payroll Administrator:

  • Manage the firm's payroll clients and deal with day-to-day payroll queries from clients and internal staff
  • Set up new payroll clients
  • Prepare and review monthly, fortnightly and weekly payrolls in accordance with statutory and client deadlines
  • Set up auto-enrolment pension schemes, along with client and internal staff
  • Prepare, review and submit data to pension schemes, where required
  • Liaise with client and HMRC for PAYE notices affecting clients payroll scheme
  • Set up HMRC liability payments for PAYE/NI due
  • Manage payroll/PAYE scheme enquiries from client or HMRC
  • Interacting and liaising with different levels of management both inside and outside of the firm
  • Maintaining standards of confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents

 

The ideal Payroll Administrator:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive and enthusiastic attitude, taking initiative with deadlines in the office
  • Ability to adapt to client deadlines and requirements, including managing priorities
  • Polite and articulate telephone manner
  • Excellent computer proficiency, with experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Previous knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll or other similar software
  • Having a keen eye for detail and presentation
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadline
